A-rod - How can i double the rotational energy of a rod?

i have a rod that has a constant mass and 2 masses at the ends. if i keep the angular velocity constant, how can i change the length of the rod to double the rotational energy?

keep in mind the rotational energy formula is k=1/2 I w^2…. where I is the moment of inertia

If you increase the length of the rod by v2 you will double the rotational energy presuming that you keep ? constant. (It all goes into the Moment of Inertial component (I) which is ? mr^2 — increase the radius by v 2 and you double the Inertia)
