Why is it important for society if gays get married? Why is it important if heterosexuals get married?
Is it beneficial for society as a whole for gays to get married and why? Or is it primarily only beneficial for gays to get married?

Is it beneficial for society as a whole for heterosexuals to get married and why? Is it primarily only beneficial for heterosexuals to get married?

it isnt important to society if gays marry… although they would have you believe so. this county is a christian country founded on christsian principles and according to most christian beliefs as well as what is plainly written in the Bible, homosexuality is a sin. i more than anyone believe that gov’t and religion shouldnt mix but allowing gays the same rights as non gays kinda sets the tone that it is ok to be gay…and well, its not. for a select vocal minority to insist that i go against what i believe God wants just to politically legitimize their alternative lifestyle is unamerican. if you are gay, then be gay…dont get me to agree with it or expect me to pay for your lifestyle thru my taxes or the rise in cost for my insurance or benefits. i have an alternative lifestyle as well but i am not fortunate that society deems my lifestyle "cool" or in style at the moment.

its important for heterosexuals to marry because that is what is expected , according to the New Testament, if you cannot dedicate your life to God and keep your mind from earthly desires, lest you sin from lust! hahaha …thats what the Bible says, not me… but theres something to it. its worked so far…its not perfect cuz we are not perfect, but if you belittle the sanctity of marriage further by opening it up to gays then we will only see the institution of marriage suffer further…and by implication further deterioation of the family unit. personally, i dont want it to be a common sight of some queer squealing in delight in a white wedding dress while more and more young people grow up without one or both parents in the home.

Its not important to society…its important to the couples. The divorce rate in this country is 50%.

it`s not important to society at all but is important to the individual, should anything dread-full happen to one of the partners then the law basically says they have no rights.
don`t believe all the " common law rubbish"

The only importance is that the laws and rights which benefit married couples are applied unilaterally.

Marriage is a legal arrangement granted by the state and should therefore have no religious restriction.

Morally it is important to have couples married, whether gay, heterosexual
or different races. Important for children or possessions in case of any separation or deaths. Society mostly accepts unwed couples or mixed & same sex couples but the stigma follows in the next generation. That is just the way it is.

I guess people just think it’s better that way because babymaking is usually involved. But I have to say that nowadays "only stupid people are breeding." Gay people deserve the right to love and be loved, officially.
